Portsmouth to miss out on midfield transfer target Gibson Yah as Championship rivals Bristol City close in
Pompey have interest in FC Volendam midfielder Gibson Yah but look set to miss out to Championship rivals Bristol City.
Pompey are reportedly set to miss out on FC Volendam midfielder Gibson Yah.
It’s been a quiet start to the transfer window at Fratton Park as Pompey prepare for their second-successive Championship campaign.
That picture is quickly changing, however, with the 22-year-old one of a number of targets at PO4.

The Blues do hold an interest in Yah, having said to have been in ‘advanced talks’ last week.

But John Mousinho’s men will reportedly miss out on the Dutch youth international, with Championship rivals Bristol City set to pounce.
A fresh report from Dutch transfer guru Mounir Boualin has claimed the Robins are ‘on the verge’ of securing a deal for the FC Volendam man.
It is believed a verbal agreement has been reached between all parties, with a medical and finer details just standing in the way of the deal.
The Ajax academy product is available on a free transfer following De Palingboeren’s Eredivisie relegation last term, having featured 26 times.
Yah was a notable absentee FC Volendam’s first day of pre-season training, fuelling further suspicion over a summer depature.
That looks to be the case with fresh reports in Holland now suggesting the midfielder will make the move to Ashton Gate, with Pompey set to miss out on one of their transfer targets.
The Blues have, though, been weighing up potential alternatives to the former FC Utrecht man.

DAC Dunajska Streda holding midfielder Mate Tuboly is said to be on the Blues’ shopping list, having placed a £1.3m bid earlier this week.
The Hungary U21 captain is also said to be on the radar of Swansea City and Watford during the window after a brilliant campaign in Slovakia’s top flight last term.

Our sister paper, The Peterborough Telegraph, have suggested departing Posh talent Archie Collins is also on Pompey’s radar.
A fresh report has claimed the 26-year-old, who will be available on a free transfer this summer, is being tracked by Mousinho’s side, along with League One trio Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City and Oxford United.
The Blues are, of course, in the market for at least one midfielder this summer following the departure of Andre Dozzell.
The 26-year-old turned down a new deal to remain at Fratton Park in order to join MLS outfit DC United.
That leaves Ebou Adams, Luke Le Roux and Marlon Pack as the only natural options in the engine room at present, while Mark Kosznovszky is expected to remain sidelined until later this year with a knee injury.
