Transfer gossip: Portsmouth in talks with Hull City over sensational homecoming for huge favourite
Pompey have been linked with a fresh swoop for ex-Fratton favourite and Hull City ace Abu Kamara.
Pompey are ‘considering’ a bid to sign Abu Kamara this summer, according to reports.
John Mousinho’s men have, of course, been long-term admirers of the hugely-popular winger, who enjoyed a brilliant loan stint during their 2023-24 campaign.
Having played a crucial role in the Blues’ League One title success, Pompey looked to re-sign the 22-year-old on a permanent basis that summer but were unable to match the financial muscle by the Tigers, who secured a £3m-plus deal for the Norwich City forward.

Pompey keen to strike deal for Hull City man Abu Kamara
Now, according to the Hull Daily Mail, Mousinho troops are said to be launching a fresh bid to sign Kamara as they look to capitalise on his current MKM Stadium situation.
The ex-Getafe loanee has been deemed surplus to requirements in the north east following Hull’s promotion to the Premier League.
The fresh report states although a deal has yet to be agreed, talks are ongoing between the two clubs in the hope of a breakthrough.
Kamara still has two years to run on his current Tigers terms, having penned a four-year deal in 2024.
Following his switch to the MKM Stadium, the Carrow Road academy graduate has failed to eclipse the impressive form seen during his successful season-long loan at Fratton Park.
The forward has scored five goals and collected three assists in 40 appearances for Hull, and featured just twice in the Championship last term before being shipped out to Getafe, where he failed to net in any of his 13 La Liga outings.
Abu Kamara’s brilliant Fratton Park loan

Pompey have held a long-term interest in the winger, who played a key role in their Championship return after 12 years away.
Kamara scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in Mousinho’s title-winning side, establishing himself as a tricky operator on the right wing and a huge favourite amongst fans.
The Blues are in the market for a right-sided forward this summer following the departure of Gustavo Caballero.
Although Pompey are reportedly keen on signing the Paraguay international on a permanent basis, a fee continues to be a stumbling block as Santos look to up the value on the World Cup star.
Mousinho currently has Harvey Blair and Franco Umeh as his current right-wing operators, while Keshi Anderson and Adrian Segecic can slot in if required.
But now fresh reports are suggesting the Blues are considering a sensational homecoming for Kamara, two years after his brilliant Fratton Park stint.
