Former Rangers man delivers exciting verdict over Portsmouth and Sheffield United-linked man Luke Graham
Pompey were one of three Championship clubs linked with Dundee defender Luke Graham.
Pompey have been given a glowing reference over reported transfer target Luke Graham.
The Dundee Courier have claimed Championship rivals Sheffield United and QPR are also both keen on the centre-back, while Scottish Premiership duo Aberdeen and Hearts have previously been linked by the Daily Record.
Graham is regarded as one of Scottish football’s emerging top talents, with a host of clubs keeping tabs on his current situation at Dens Park as he enters the final 18 months of his current terms.
After making his senior debut in October 2022 for Albion Rovers, the Perth-born defender has gone on to total 119 appearances at first-team level - an impressive figure for a player still in the early-stages of his career.
Temporary stints with Montrose and Falkirk followed for the Dundee youth product before going on to amass 23 outings in all competitions for Steven Pressley’s men this term.
Indeed the head coach, who enjoyed a successful playing career with Hearts, Rangers and Celtic, has tipped his young talent with a bright future with interest south of the border growing.
Pompey given glowing reference over reported target
And the Dundee boss has provided an intriguing insight into what Pompey could expect if they were to land Graham.
‘He is a player with a big future,’ Pressley told the Dundee Courier in the summer.
‘I do think that he is at a stage where he needs to play regular football in his development. We are giving him that at present.
‘The club has done a really wonderful job with Luke and his development, they really have.
‘I can see that he has played a lot of men’s football from an early age. He has that steely determination.
‘He started playing at Albion Rovers at the age of 18 and he has had several loans since. The loan at Falkirk allowed him great growth again.
‘Fortunately for myself, I have come in at a time to reap the benefits of that loan. Luke has really impressed me in my time here.
‘I have spoken to Luke because I also think there is so much more to come from him. He has made a real impression so far.’
Pompey’s current centre-back options

Pompey are currently well-stacked at the heart of the backline, with five options to choose from at present.
Regan Poole has been an ever-present for the Blues in the league this term, while Conor Shaughnessy has recently returned from a long-term hamstring injury.
Ibane Bowat remains available for Mousinho, while Knight continues his recovery from a back issue along with Hayden Matthews, who suffered an issue against Bristol City last week.
