Portsmouth striker to undergo surgery after devastating injury blow
Tayo Singerr has returned to Pompey from AFC Totton following injury.
John Mousinho has confirmed Pompey starlet Tayo Singerr will undergo hamstring surgery.
The promising striker, of course, joined the National League South outfit on a season-long loan agreement earlier this month having recovered from a previous hamstring issue.

Singerr had missed the entirety of pre-season at Fratton Park due to a setback, which was sustained during his short Gosport Borough stay at the end of last term.
He was subsequently named on the Totton’ bench for the recent trip to Weston-Super-Mare, hours after his move had been announced by the Blues.

However, having been introduced 12 minutes into the second half with the Stags 3-0 down, the Fratton Park academy graduate was forced off through injury on 66 minutes.
Singerr was then missing from Scott Rendell’s 16-man squad for Saturday’s 1-0 National League South defeat to Slough.
The Totton boss explained the young forward’s absence was injury related and explained the Blues talent had suffered a different hamstring issue.
The head coach said: ‘It’s just our luck at the minute with centre-forwards we have signed.
‘It is what it is, young Tayo has had a hamstring injury before, but it’s not the same leg, not the same injury, not the same hamstring.
‘He just felt something. Obviously it’s a mental thing, obviously when you have such a serious injury you are a bit unsure, but until we get him checked out with Pompey, we won’t know the result of it.
‘So it’s a wait and see. But I’m hoping it's not too long.’
After returning to Fratton Park for treatment, Mousinho confirmed in Wednesday's pre-Blackburn Rovers press conference that Singerr will undergo hamstring surgery and is now facing a period out.
It’s a fresh blow for the highly-rated Fratton youth product, who had been forced to sit out pre-season due to a separate hamstring issue earlier this summer.
Tayo Singerr’s Pompey career so far

Singerr announced his arrival into Pompey’s first-team in August 2025 when, coming on as a substitute, he netted a debut goal at the age of 17 years and 10 months in the Carabao Cup defeat to Reading.
He spent the first half of the season with Isthmian League South Central Division outfit Moneyfields where he impressed, scoring 14 goals in 18 appearances, before being recalled by Pompey in January.
Amid the Blues’ injury issues at the turn of the year, the striker was handed his Championship bow in the New Years’ Day defeat to Bristol City, coming off the bench to feature in the final 16 minutes of the contest.
Singerr’s brilliant emergence was rewarded by Mousinho’s side, penning a first professional deal later that month before being named in match-day squads to face Watford, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic.
He would then spend the second half of the season on loan at Gosport where he later sustained a hamstring issue.
Following his brief Privett Park stint, John Mousinho hoped to reward the academy product with a move higher up the football pyramid.
Singerr will be now looking to return to full fitness as quickly as possible as he bids to make his mark in the seventh tier of English football.
