Devastating fresh injury set-back for luckless Portsmouth striker after nightmare debut
The highly-regarded 18-year-old was signed his first professional contract with the Blues in January
Luckless Tayo Singerr has suffered another injury blow - just nine minutes into his AFC Totton debut.

After returning to action last month, he secured a season-long loan with Totton, providing him with the opportunity of National League South football to aid his encouraging development.
Singerr was subsequently named on the Stags’ bench for last week’s trip to Weston-Super-Mare, hours after his move had been announced by the Blues.
However, having been introduced in the 57th minute with his team 3-0 down, the striker had to be substituted through injury nine minutes later, with Ibrahim Olateju replacing him.
Injured after nine minutes
Totton went on to lose the clash 3-1 and, speaking at the time, manager Scott Rendell told the official club website: ‘It’s just our luck at the minute with centre-forwards we have signed. It is what it is, young Tayo has had a hamstring injury before, but it’s not the same leg, not the same injury, not the same hamstring.
‘He just felt something. Obviously it’s a mental thing, obviously when you have such a serious injury you are a bit unsure, but until we get him checked out with Pompey, we won’t know the result of it.

‘So it’s a wait and see. But I’m hoping it's not too long.’
Singerr subsequently wasn’t included in Totton’s 16-man squad for Saturday’s visit of Slough to the Snows Stadium.
In his absence, they lost 1-0, leaving them 19th in National League South, having scored just eight goals from their opening eight league fixtures.
The Stags are one place above Farnborough, who also attempted to capture the in-demand Singerr on loan this season, obviously without success.
A goal on his Portsmouth debut
At the age of 17 years and 10 months, the attacker burst onto the Pompey first-team scene with a goal on his debut in August 2025.
Having come off the bench against Reading in the Carabao Cup, Singerr headed home Adrian Segecic’s cross for a 90th-minute consolation goal in a 2-1 defeat to the League One club.
Shortly afterwards he was sent on loan to Moneyfields, where he netted 14 times in 18 appearances for the Isthmian League South Central Division club.
He returned to Fratton Park from his loan in December and ended up making his Football League debut on New Year’s Day, featuring at Bristol City for John Mousinho’s men.
The second-year scholar subsequently signed his first professional deal in January, before linking up on loan with Gosport in Southern League Premier South.
However, that was cut short by a hamstring injury which ultimately sidelined Singerr from all of Pompey’s pre-season friendly programme, much to Mousinho’s disappointment.
Then Totton was chosen as the next stage of his development - with the extent of his latest injury set-back not yet clear.
