It brought to a close a busy summer for the Blues, with Adrian Segecic, John Swift, Mark Kosznovszjy, Luke Le Roux, Florian Bianchini, Minhyeok Yang, Josh Knight, Josef Bursik, Franco Umeh, Mackenzie Kirk and Conor Chaplin all securing moves to PO4.
John Mousinho now has a new-look squad to choose from, having assembled his side for the Championship campaign.
With the transfer window now closed, we’ve taken a look what the Pompey’s strongest starting XI and bench could look like when every player is fit.
Do you believe this is the Blues’ best possible side?

5. CB: Conor Shaughnessy
Competition at centre-back is hotting up with Knight, Matthews and Bowat all waiting in the wings for a chance. Shaughnessy has looked solid partnering Poole in the backline, and the pair have plenty of credit in the bank. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

6. LB: Connor Ogilvie
Cemented himself as Mousinho’s first-choice option at left-back, with Jacob Farrell struggling to get a look in currently. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

7. CM: Andre Dozzell
Has started all four of Pompey’s Championship contests to date and netted the winner against Preston on Saturday. Has looked bright in the engine room, with the Fratton faithful growing to love the midfielder. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

8. CM: John Swift
In Marlon Pack’s absence, as well as the wait for Kosznovszky and Le Roux to adapt to English football, Swift has partnered Dozzell in the Blues' opening four league matches. Although there have been a few questions asked over their partnership, they’re growing together with Mousinho insisting he can operate in the number six role. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages
