Portsmouth rivals reject £10m Premier League bid for World Cup star as Southampton face fresh £23m battle
The latest transfer headlines involving Pompey’s Championship rivals.
After Pompey secured their first signing of the summer, all eyes are on what’s next at Fratton Park.
Odin Bailey completed his free transfer switch to PO4 earlier this week, penning a three-year deal following his Stockport County departure.
The midfielder is the first new face through the doors during the window, with that number expected to rise as the Blues close in on a number of targets.

Long-term target Luke Graham won’t be making the move to Fratton Park this summer, though, after the 22-year-old opted to join Championship rivals Stoke City.
Elsewhere, gossip and speculation continues to do the rounds across the division as the rumour mill begins to turn.
Here are the latest transfer headlines involving Pompey’s Championship rivals.
Watford reject £10m Hull City bid
Watford have made a statement of intent in the early knockings of the transfer window.
Nestroy Irankunda enjoyed a brilliant maiden campaign in the Championship, netting four goals and providing five assists in 40 league appearances at Vicarage Road.
This has seen his stock rise sharply in his first 12 months with the Hornets after arriving from Bayern Munich for £2.5m last summer.
After a stellar season, the forward’s form has continued and is currently impressing at the World Cup for Australia.
His fantastic run has sparked new interest from higher up the football pyramid, with recently-promoted Hull City reportedly setting their sights on Irankunda.
And it is believed the Tigers have had an opening bid rejected by Watford as they look to keep their star forward.
TalkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs has claimed the Hornets have knocked back a £10m offer from Sergej Jakirovic’s side, who are looking to splash the cash on their return to the top flight.
It remains to be seen if Hull, who won promotion through the play-offs will return with a new bid as they look to bolster their forward line.
Irankunda still holds four years on his current Vicarage Road terms, having penned a five-year deal last summer.
Although the Tigers are looking to strengthen across the frontline in the window, Kamara’s future remains uncertain, with Pompey reportedly eyeing a deal to bring the League One title winner back to Fratton Park.
Leeds United table fresh Southampton offer

Leeds United are stepping up their pursuit of Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, according to reports.
The Daily Mail have reported the Whites have tabled a fresh £23m deal, plus add ons, to land the 23-year-old, who is in high demand this summer.
Pompey’s bitter south-coast rivals currently value the classy operator at £30m, with Daniel Farke’s side hoping their new offer will be enough to secure his services.
Charles impressed at St Mary’s last term, appearing 40 times in all competitions, while also netting six goals and collecting two assists.
The former Sheffield Wednesday loanee is entering the final 12 months of his Southampton agreement, with speculation continuing to mount over his future.
