'Value is skyrocketing. Only firepower we have': Portsmouth faithful say the same thing over huge Fratton favourite's future
Adrian Segecic has netted 10 goals in his maiden campaign at Fratton Park and is Pompey’s leading scorer this term.
The Fratton faithful on social media have called on Pompey to hand Adrian Segecic a new deal this summer with his stock firmly on the rise.
It continues the Croatia under-21 international’s excellent run of form in recent weeks, which has seen him net four goals and collect three assists in his past five outings, helping the Blues complete their quest for Championship safety.
Those figures have taken his season total to 10 goals and four assists in all competitions as he excels in his maiden Pompey campaign following his switch from Sydney FC last summer.
The young talent still has two years on his current PO4 contract, with Pompey highly unlikely to cash in on their 2025 purchase just yet.
As a result, we asked the question: Should Pompey hand Adrian Segecic a new Fratton Park deal this summer? to supporters on social media. And the response from the Fratton faithful was clear.
Here are some of the best responsres from Facebook.
Clear Pompey verdict over Adrian Segecic’s future
Pete Tiffin: Adrian Segecic's value is skyrocketing, and a bigger contract would mean a higher fee. He's adapted quickly, scoring on his debut and showing great consistency. He's exceeded expectations and proven himself to be a valuable asset.
Alex Bennett: Obviously. He’s one of our best players if not the best.
Peter Soley: Without a doubt. He surely appreciates the faith that Pompey have shown in him. Give him a new contract and agree that he can be sold to the club of his choice for an agreed release price.
Ann Walmsley: Definitely, he’s so young and can only improve……we hope, increasing his value to us or to sell at later date.
Kim Banks: Bit of a no-brainer really if we want to up the anti next season.

Ian Welch: We should send Chaplin back and tell Segecic he is our no 10 next season and he’d be better off as our first choice than going elsewhere. We can’t play both him and Chaplin - just too similar in size and style.
Ian Turton: Yes. Play him at 10 and not wide. Championship was a big step up from playing in Australia. He is young and will keep improving.
Les Catlin: Obviously he is their best goal scorer and it would be a crime to let him go.
Colin Ghent: Oh yes!! The only firepower we have.
Mat Richards: I guess it depends if were going to carry Chaplin again next season or whether were actually going to play Segecic in his preferred 10 role.
If were going to use him properly, sign him down to a long term deal as his value will sky rocket if he has a good season next year and becomes a Croatian full international.
Personally love to see Devlin, Adams & Segecic as the midfield 3 next season, that would be a strong Championship midfield.
Ian Hockin: No brainer if we want to progress.
Jacob Peters: Don’t sign Chaplin sign cabellero play Segs in the 10 Caballero right Murphy on the left.
