Gaffer For A Day: Portsmouth have a gem of a boss and are on the way up - back him or lose him
Gaffer For A Day, Thomas Schneider, aged 26 from Bognor Regis, analyses Pompey’s 3-1 win at Millwall...
How do you assess that performance?
When we conceded, I thought we’d have to dig in and hold on for a point - yet we actually looked just as good as we had before.

What’s more, we really pushed on, got another through Marlon Pack, and absolutely deserved the three points.
Casper De Norre’s goal for Millwall was good, but I can't think of any other chances they had.
It was a brilliant performance, there was a lot of effort, everyone was playing for the badge. It was excellent.
Who was your man of the match?
Millenic Alli was excellent on that left-hand side, he created so much. I would sign him up in the summer, without a doubt. With John Swift coming in as well, we just look like a whole new team.
He attacks the defenders and gives us back the attacking edge we’ve missed since Josh Murphy has been injured. He cuts the ball back every time and gives us that attacking threat.
It’s definitely going to be hard for the injured players to come back in after these recent performances.
What do you think about Pompey’s survival chances now?
Play like that every week and we are more than safe. I know we have a tough game on Tuesday at Wrexham, but keep playing like that and absolutely we’ll comfortably stay up.
We left Sheffield United gutted, but this week has rejuvenated the positive feeling for the fans.
It has kind of taken us by surprise. On paper you might think we were going to get zero points against Charlton and Millen, then we’re in big danger - so to come up with six is unbelievable.
I would have been happy with a point, just be competitive, or not lose by too many goals. But we got a win and a brilliant performance.
What do you make of the job John Mousinho continues to do?
He is excellent but needs backing because we have a real gem of a manager on our hands and are on the way up.
We need to keep hold of him and give him what he needs. If we don’t back him in the summer, I wouldn't blame him if he looked to move away.

Give him the money, he needs backing to get in the players he wants. Hopefully, if that can happen, we can progress next season.
I know some fans don’t like him, but I don’t know who is better out there.
