The second defeat in a week at the University of Portsmouth Stadium was fully deserved, turning in an even more dreadful display than Tuesday night in the Papa Johns Trophy.
Plenty of shocking Pompey displays – and here are our player ratings...
13. Colby Bishop - 5
Replaced by Dane Scarlett on 83 mins) Had a couple of decent second half chances as Pompey finally got a shot on target. Toiled away as ever but found it tough. Photo: NationalWorld
14. Portsmouth defender Michael Morrison (28) challenges during the EFL Sky Bet League 1 match between Bolton Wanderers and Portsmouth at the University of Bolton Stadium, Bolton, England on 14 January 2023.

15. Reeco Hackett - 6
(Replaced Denver Hume on 66 mins) Definitely pepped up attack upon entrance to offer late encouragement. Although one awful cross which went out for a throw-in summed up game. Photo: National World
16. Ronan Curtis - 5
(Replaced Michael Jacobs on 66 mins) Disappointingly made very little impact but he was in familiar company in awful team display. Photo: National World
