The Blues have now entered a hugely important January transfer window, one which will dictate whether they successfully fight against the drop for consecutive seasons.
And here are our Blues player ratings for the campaign so far…

13. Ibane Bowat - 5.5
(9 games, 1 goal) Following injury, it took the defender almost 12 months into his Pompey career to make his debut. Inevitably, it has taken a little time to come up to speed, while suffered a torrid time at left-back in his Championship debut. There have been encouraging signs, such as the match-winning display against Blackburn. Just needs a bit of time and patience. Photo: Graham Hunt

14. Regan Poole - 8
(23 games, 0 goals) Free from injury and well-established in the side, Poole has been the backbone of the Blues’ defence and one of their more impressive - and consistent - performers. Such a warrior, playing with heart, aggression, bite and loves to throw himself in front of the ball for a block. Captain on occasions and a key player, particularly when Shaughnessy was missing. 15. Andre Dozzell - 7.5
(24 games, 1 goal) Having lost his place in the final month of last season, the midfielder returned in style and was one of the most outstanding performers in the early part of the season. Has recently dipped, with his display against QPR summing up matters, producing a magnificent first half and then disappeared in the second. Still, Dozzell has been Pompey’s best central midfielder this season, plus he put the ball in for that magical Yang moment. Photo: Graham Hunt

16. Marlon Pack - 6
(17 games, 1 goal) Lost his midfield place last season and instead operated at centre-half, now the skipper is back in his usual spot. Still possesses an excellent range of passing, superb leadership skills and the prized ability to keep the ball and control a game. But, at times, Pompey’s midfield have been overrun and lacked energy. Still has a huge role to play, though, and regularly makes a good impact off the bench. Photo: Graham Hunt
