The Blues found themselves 2-0 down after 28 minutes following sloppy defending against struggling Reading, with the Madejski Stadium rocking.
But remarkably, John Mousinho’s men fought back to triumph 3-2 through goals from Tino Anjorin, Colby Bishop and Terry Devlin – and here are our Pompey player ratings...
13. John Swift - 6
(Replaced Callum Lang on 46 mins) Looked bright and creative against former club and was unluckily denied a goal late on by Joel Pereira's save after he followed up Thomas Waddingham's initial shot. Photo: Portsmouth FC
14. Ibane Bowat - 6
(Replaced Conor Shaughnessy on 59 mins) A first appearance in a Pompey - and a brilliant moment to finally see him in the flesh. Photo: Habibur Rahman
16. Thomas Waddingham - 5
(Replaced Colby Bishop on 59 mins) Had a great chance to score late on, but Joel Pereira saved his one-on-one - and then John Swift's follow-up. Photo: Nigel Keene
