White knuckling footage shows erractic driver swerving across M27 as police block him in

Police were called with reports of a white Citroen Berlingo van driving erratically on the M27 eastbound near Rownhams services on November 19 at about 12.30pm.

The van driver was spotted swerving across three lanes, and there were several near misses with other vehicles.

The driver, Samon Leonard Briddle, then failed to stop for the police and continued to drive dangerously, ignoring red lights and mounting pavements to try and evade officers.

Officers were authorised to use tactical contact with their vehicles to bring the Citroen to a stop on the M27 between junctions 11 and 12.

Consequently, the 37-year-old, of Billy Road on Hayling Island, was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
