"Serious" crash on A3 near Hindhead tunnel results in lane closures with emergency services in attendance
Emergency services have raced to a “serious collision” on a major dual carriageway resulting to multiple lane closures.
A post on X says: “Lane 2 is also closed on approach in the #HindheadTunnel.
“Emergency services are in attendance. More information to follow.”
The AA says: “One lane closed and queueing traffic due to crash on A3 Hindhead Tunnel Southbound between Thursley and Grayshott. Lane closure within the tunnel.
“Detour in operation - from the Hazel Grove Roundabout.”
The Hamsphire and Isle of Wight Constabulary wrote on Facebook, saying: “We are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the A3 near Hindhead Tunnel. The southbound carriageway has been closed from Grayshott while emergency services are in attendance.
“Please avoid the area at this time, we will provide further updates when we can.”
As a result of the crash, there are hefty delays in the area.
