M27: National Highways gives update on motorway which is closed at Portsmouth after fatal crash

National Highways have given an update on the M27, which has been closed for most of the day after a fatal collision.

Police have confirmed that a 66-year-old motorcyclist from Gosport has died after the incident on the eastbound side near Portsmouth.

The motorway has been shut between Junction 9 at Whiteley since the morning, with diversions running along the A27 through Titchfield and Fareham.

National Highways has now confirmed that police have finished investigating, adding that “clear-up works are under way”. They say there are no delays on the diversion route at the moment.
