LIVE Updates: Delays and disruption as track safety inspection continues between Portsmouth Harbour and Havant
Rail commuters are facing another day of delays and disruption in Portsmouth as a safety inspection is carried out on the track.
South Western Railways services are affected with an inspection in Hilsea causing delays between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour. Speed is currently reduced in the area with delays of up to 30 minutes expected on journeys, while some may be diverted or cancelled.
A National Rail spokesperson said: “A safety inspection of a bridge and track is taking place near Hilsea. Consequently, some trains running through this station may be subject to a speed restriction, resulting in journeys being delayed by up to 30 minutes.
“Some trains may also be cancelled or revised to run to different stations or only run on part of the normal route. Disruption between Southampton Central / Havant and Portsmouth Harbour is expected until the end of the day.”
