A27: Traffic chaos as lane closure and 50mph speed restrictions for "essential maintenance" causes delays
Lane closures and speed restrictions on the A27 is causing chaos
Roadworks are causing traffic mayhem, with drivers warned a lane closure will remain in place on an A road for more than a week.
A lane closure is currently in place on the eastbound carriageway of the A27 until 8pm Thursday, June 18 as National Highways continue “essential maintenance works” along the Havant corridor.
A 50mph speed limit will also be imposed on lane two - with National Highways warning motorists to expect delays.

This morning (June 9), the AA has reported increasing delays of 13 minutes during rush hour as a result of the closure and speed restrictions.
The A27 eastbound will be fully closed between the same section from 8pm on Thursday, June 18 to 6am on Friday, June 19, with diversions in place.
The latest works on the eastbound side follow those which happened on the westbound carriageway in April and May, and slipway closures at Warblington in April and May.
More updates to follow.
