Motorists warned of delays on the A27 with more closures planned and 50mph limit returning - details

More lane closures and 50mph limits on the A27

Motorists are bracing themselves for disruption on the A27 with more lane closures in place as well as the return of a 50mph speed limit along the Havant corridor.

It forms part of 18 months of works along the Warblington to Fishbourne Roundabout stretch of the busy carriageway as repairs are made to safety barriers.

The latest closure will see the eastbound carriageway fully closed between Langstone and the Fishbourne roundabout overnight tomorrow (Monday June 8) from 8pm until 6am on Tuesday, June 9 while a lane closure is put in place. Diversions will be in place along the A259.

After this, lane one will be closed continuously 24 hours a day until 8pm on Thursday, June 18, with a 50mph speed limit imposed on lane two - with National Highways warning motorists to expect delays.

The A27 eastbound will then be fully closed between the same section from 8pm on Thursday, June 18 to 6am on Friday, June 19 when the lane closure is removed, with the same diversion in place.

The latest works on the eastbound side follow those which happened on the westbound carriageway in April and May, and slipway closures at Warblington in April and May.
