Catastrophe as tree falls on closed stretch of M27 during recovery process after HGV left carriageway
A tree has fallen on the M27
The ‘complex’ recovery process of a HGV after it left the M27 has resulted in a tree falling across the motorway.
National Highways South has confirmed the westbound carriageway of the M27 remains shut following a crash earlier this morning (July 23) between junction 2 (Ower) and the A31 (Ringwood).
The News previously reported this is due to a ‘complex recovery’ process of a HGV that left the carriageway, with the travel service expecting the closure to last several hours.
In an update on social media, National Highways South said: “A tree was removed to support recovery and has fell on the road. This will need to be removed before reopening.”
Diversions are in place, with delays of 30 mins on approach. For more information about the incident and a diversion, click here.
