LIVE: 'Complex recovery work' on M27 complete after HGV leaves carriageway in crash

Recovery of a HGV that left a motorway in a crash this morning is complete.

National Highways South previously reported the westbound carriageway of the M27 has been closed following a crash that happened earlier this morning (July 23).

The stretch of road was closed between junction 2 Ower and the A31/A338 Ringwood to “facilitate the recovery of a HGV that left the carriageway.”

The traffic management service added: “Due to the complexity of the recovery process, the closure is likely to remain in place for several hours.”

In an update, National Highways said the M27 westbound is now open, and the recovery of the HGV has been completed.

There are currently delays still in place.
