"Our musical hearts are broken": The Fratellis postpone tour due to band member's "ongoing health issues" with Guildhall concert cancelled
“Ongoing health issues” have prompted The Fratellis to postpone their upcoming tour, with Guildhall’s concert, which was due to take place this month, cancelled.
The Fratellis, known for their iconic single Chelsea Dagger, has said the band’s musical hearts have been “broken” as the group postpones its upcoming tour, which was due to head to Guildhall on February 16.
In a statement on social media on February 2, Guildhall wrote: “The Fratellis Costello Music 20th Anniversary tour is unfortunately being rescheduled due to illness in the band. All original tickets will remain valid for the new dates.

“Promoters Crosstown Concerts are working hard to reroute the tour and the new dates will be announced as soon as possible. All summer shows will go ahead as planned.”
The event, which was due to be supported by The Gulps, sold out, with tickets costing between £43.70 and £45.45. The Scottish rock band from Glasgow, which formed in 2005, consists of three band members - lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli, bassist Barry Fratelli, and drummer Mince Fratelli - all of whom perform under pseudonyms.
In a statement, the band said: “We are really sad to announce that our Costello Music 20th Anniversary Tour has been postponed.
“Unfortunately, Jon is unable to perform right now due to ongoing health issues.
“With the tour so close it breaks our musical hearts to take this decision but in light of medical advice that Jon takes time to recover it’s the only sensible option.
“Not long after The Fratellis were born (end of 2004/beginning of 2005 depending on who you argue with) we were faced with a far more serious medical obstacle that should have ended our dream there and then. The thing is we just point blank refused to accept that we couldn’t do what we’d set out to do.”
They added: “We’ll do everything possible to announce the new dates ASAP. With the postponement of the tour we’re even more excited at the prospect of seeing many of you at our summer festival dates..they really can’t come quickly enough.
“We love you all.”
