Fareham Borough Council to display plans for Swordfish Business Park at public event - and you can have your say

“We have some exciting plans for Swordfish Business Park,” the council leader said.

Fareham residents have been invited to learn more about proposals for the future development of Swordfish Business Park.

Fareham Borough Council is holding a drop-in session later this month as part of its public consultation, ahead of submitting a planning application for the employment site.

Swordfish Business Park, situated within the Solent Enterprise Zone, is allocated for employment use in the borough’s local plan, and could see new internal roads, landscaping, drainage and utility infrastructure installed to support future business development and create new employment floorspace.

The public engagement event will take place at Crofton Community Centre in Stubbington Lane on Tuesday, July 21, from 4-7pm.

Executive leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Simon Martin, said: “We have some exciting plans for Swordfish Business Park at Daedalus and I encourage those with an interest in Fareham’s economic future to come along to our drop-in event to view the emerging proposals, meet the project team and provide feedback to help us shape the plans as they evolve.

“Daedalus is already a premier location for aviation, aerospace, engineering and advanced manufacturing businesses, and the biggest employment site in the region. Developing Swordfish will help to create even more skilled employment opportunities for local people and attract future investment into the area.”

Visitors will be able to view the proposals, speak directly with members of the project team and planning consultants, and provide feedback before the planning application is finalised. Planning consultants will also be on hand to answer technical questions.

The event forms part of a wider consultation programme, with information leaflets being delivered to more than 2,000 nearby homes and businesses. Details of the proposals will also be published on Fareham Borough Council's website after the event, where residents will be able to view the plans and submit comments online.

The public engagement period will remain open until Tuesday, August 4.
