Power expected to be restored at 4pm
Over 1800 homes have been left without power due to damage on the electricity network.
The area affected is PO17 and SO32 with many of the homes left without power since 5.30am. Engineers on site but due to the complexity of the issue, Scottish & Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) have advised power may not be restored until 4pm

An update on the SSEN website states: “We’re sorry about the power cut in the area. The power cut is affecting 1827 properties in the area. We are working with our engineers to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
“We have had reports of damage to our network. When this happens, the power will automatically turn off to keep everyone safe. Our engineers know exactly where the problem is and are working hard to make the situation safe, repair the wire and get your power back on.
“These type of faults often require extensive work and specialist teams, such as tree cutters, which is why the restoration time seems far away.”
