Gosport lifeboat crew rescues group of children after they get caught out by tide
The organisation issued a warning about how quickly conditions in the water can change
A group of children were rescued by a lifeboat crew after getting caught out in the water.
Volunteers from the Gosport And Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) were deployed to help the kids playing at sea yesterday (September 19). The organisation said they had been caught out by the tide at the entrance to Wootton Creek, Isle of Wight.

“Launching in very choppy conditions, the crew made best speed to the children, reaching them within 10 minutes, and safely escorted them back to dry land,” GAFIRS added.
“This tasking is great reminder of how quickly conditions can change on the water, and how important it is to keep an eye on the tide and plan your trip accordingly. Another job safely completed by our volunteer crew, who are always ready to respond when called upon.”
It is the 82nd time this year that the GAFIRS team have been deployed.
