Spectacular fireworks display and bonfire night to return to HMS Sultan in Gosport - when, times

Last year’s festivities were limited due to weather conditions, but this upcoming event promises to be bigger and better

A much-anticipated fireworks display and bonfire night will be returning this October half-term.

Royal Navy engineering base HMS Sultan will once again be hosting its annual festivities. After having to be altered last year due to the weather, 2026 promises to be bigger and better as sailors will be celebrating the shore establishment’s 70th anniversary.

Nation Radio's Mark Collins will host the event on October 29, which culminates in loud bangs and bright colours from the fireworks display - spinning Catherine wheels and large rockets.

At the evening of packed entertainment, children will get the go on the funfair rides and play traditional festival games before gathering round the impressive bonfire. Hot food, snacks and treats will also be available throughout the evening.

The evening also aims to support the HMS Sultan's own service charity. Extra nods will be made to the service through an engineering themed soundtrack.

Gates will open at 5.30pm with parking available from 5pm. The bonfire lighting will take place at 7.30pm, followed by the fireworks display at 8.30pm. The event is scheduled to finish at 10.45pm.

Discounted tickets at early bird prices will be available until October 25. Family admission for two adults and two children will cost £20. Further ticket prices include:

  • Adult: £7
  • Children aged between 3-15: £4
  • Children under three: free
  • Parking: £5

Tickets can be booked online via the HMS Sultan website.
