Crowds gathered in the Precinct to watch a commemoration parade on Saturday (November 8). The event began at 10.30am with personnel from the Sea Training Corps leading the parade to the memorial.
Wreaths were laid at the Portchester Memorial, which commemorates residents who were killed or missing in conflicts such as The First World War and The Second World War.
Cadets from across the Royal Navy, Army, and RAF, laid the poppy wreaths at the site, alongside armed forces veterans. Dignitaries including Fareham and Waterlooville MP Suella Braverman, and Mayor of Fareham councillor Louise Clubley, followed suit alongside representatives from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
After The Last Post, two minute’s silence, and The Reveille, the parade proceeded to march back down the precinct. A larger service in Fareham was held on Sunday. Here are a selection of pictures from the proceedings.
