Remembrance Sunday: 34 pictures of glorious Fareham commemoration as residents honour lost loved ones

A poignant memorial service took place in Fareham to honour those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The Remembrance Sunday parade took place in West Street this morning (November 9). Known as the Forever Remembered memorial, this commemoration started at the war memorial at Holy Trinity Church at 9.45am.

The names of those who served from the Fareham area who lost their lives in conflicts were read aloud to the public.

Military personnel in the parade stepped off at 10.40am from the Duke of Connaught's Own Club in Western Road, proceeding to head along King’s Road and West Street.

A two minute’s silence was observed at 11am, followed the wreath laying ceremony and church service. Service personnel from HMS Collingwood, including Commanding Officer Tim Davey, took part in the proceedings. Here are 34 pictures from the service.
