Class A and B narcotics were disovered

A man driving a Range Rover was arrested after cocaine and cannabis was found in his car.

Police stopped the vehicle Horsfield Road, Selsey, on June 26 at around 10pm. Chichester Police said a 20-year-old was detained by officers from the Specialist Enforcement Unit (SEU) after they found the SUV was being driven without insurance.

A social media statement said: “They stopped it to make enquiries in Horsfield Road, and after detecting the smell of cannabis, a search was carried out, resulting in the seizure of suspected cocaine, cannabis, around £1,000 in cash.

“The driver – a 20-year-old man from Chichester – was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, possession of criminal property, driving without insurance and possession of cannabis. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

“This arrest demonstrates how proactive patrols can quickly identify criminality and help remove drugs from our communities.”
