Officers have released an e-fit image as part of their enquiries into a suspicious incident in Whiteley which took place between 3.05pm and 3.30pm on Wednesday 3 December.

A woman in her 20s was walking along a footpath between Whiteley Way and Bluebell Way when she was repeatedly approached by the persistent man she did not know.

Police said: “On two of these occasions, he made sexualised comments towards the woman. She ran off and the man followed in her direction. She was not physically harmed during this incident.”

The man was described as Asian/dark skinned, aged in his 30s, 5ft 6ins tall, slim with short dark hair and stubble. He was wearing a khaki gilet with a hoodie underneath, tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

Sergeant Dean Scott, from Winchester Greater’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This was an alarming incident and officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries since it was reported to us.

“We are now in a position to release this image. We want anyone who thinks they know who this man is to get in touch. A number of people contacted us following our first witness appeal, and I’d urge anyone with information who hasn’t yet spoken to us to do so.

“Officers have been carrying out regular patrols in the area and at Whiteley Shopping Centre in the past few weeks and are planning on more activity with the local community. Please speak to us if you have concerns.”
