Man and boy banned from Hampshire after 10 pheasants killed by catapults
Both individuals have been bailed with conditions, which includes not being allowed in the county
A man and a boy have been banned from Hampshire after 10 pheasants were killed.
Officers arrested the 19-year-old and 16-year-old, from Surrey, on September 29. They were found sat in a Honda CR-V, with catapults and ball bearings being seized from the vehicle.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: “They were both arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, and daytime trespass in pursuit of game (poaching) due to suspicions that they had been involved in a poaching incident in the same area just two days prior whereby 10 pheasants were killed.
“Our investigation into these incidents continues and both teenagers have been bailed with conditions, including not to return to Hampshire, until December 29 while we conduct further enquiries.
“Rural crime is a priority for us, and teams including DPT, our rural crime taskforce, and neighbourhoods officers actively work together to patrol rural spaces and respond to calls that come in.”
Police responded to reports of the individuals trespassing in Upton Grey, rural Hampshire, amid suspicions of hare coursing.
