Man admits to sending grossly offensive emails to Fareham and Waterlooville MP Suella Braverman
A 65-year-old man from the West Midlands has admitted to sending grossly offensive emails to Fareham and Waterlooville MP Suella Braverman.
Jagjivan Ram, of Waste Lane, Balsall Common, near Solihull, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on February 18 where he pled guilty to two charges under the Malicious Communications Act.
Ram told District Judge David Wain after pleading guilty that he was “not aware in any detail why I was sending it” adding that “from a moral perspective, that’s not me”.
His defence, Ed Ball, said Ram had a “fogginess on what was what said” because of medication he had been prescribed.
District Judge Wain told Ram: “I give you no guarantee of the outcome but it’s important that the court knows everything about you so it can properly and fairly sentence you.
“You have not been in trouble for the rest of your life. I very much hope we can meet for sentence without any new allegations.”
