Man accused of attempted murder after Park Gate street stabbing appears in court

A man accused of attempted murder after a street stabbing has appeared in court.
Luke Foreman, 21, appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court after he allegedly knifed a 20-year-old in Hunts Pond Road, Park Gate, on Saturday (November 15) just after 6pm.
The man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries with police saying his condition is currently stable. It is also believed the incident may be linked to a robbery at Morrisons in Hunts Pond Road on the same day, which saw alcohol stolen.
Foreman, of no fixed address, appeared in court charged with attempted murder, possession of a knife in a public place and robbery. The case was sent to Portsmouth Crown Court on December 22 with the defendant remanded in custody.
District Commander Chief Inspector Marcus Kennedy previously said: “We understand that this incident will have caused significant concern in the community and we want to reassure you that we believe this to be an isolated incident, and that there is no wider threat to the public.
“An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances and Hunts Pond Road remains closed whilst our officers are in the area carrying out enquiries. If you have any concerns, please speak to an officer.”
