Hampshire pensioner in court accused of administering ant killer to her neighbour in Netley Abbey
A Hampshire pensioner will go on trial accused of trying to give ant killer to her neighbour
A 75-year-old woman is to face trial after pleading not guilty to administering ant killer to a neighbour.
Sally Beaney, of Netley Abbey, appeared at Southampton Crown Court where she denied using the poison to “injure, aggrieve or annoy” Matthew Perry on October 13, 2025.

Judge William Mousley KC adjourned the case for trial to start on March 17, 2027 and released the defendant on unconditional bail until then.
He told her: “Your trial will be on March 17 of next year, I will release you on bail until that trial date. If you do not come to court on March 17 and you do not have a good reason for that you will be committing a separate offence and you will be separately punished for that.
“And if you choose not to be at your trial, it will probably go ahead without you and you probably will not have a lawyer to represent you and that will not be in your best interest.”
