Exclusive:Dash cam footage shows Cosham stabbing victim 'falling to the ground', prosecutor tells jury

Abdul and Attiquallah Shinwari - who are not related - both deny attempted murder.

Fighting spilled into a busy road in Portsmouth in the moments after a man was stabbed, a court has heard.

Abdul and Attiquallah Shinwari are on trial at Portsmouth Crown Court, accused of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm after a stabbing in Hawthorn Crescent on March 12 this year. The former is also charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place. They both deny all charges.

Abdul, 20 from Alma Road, Southampton, was a student at the Highbury campus of the City of Portsmouth College at the time. Attiquallah, 23 from St Helen’s Parade, Southsea, had previously studied there. The two are not related, but appeared in the dock together.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) alleges that they were part of a group of six that attacked Sefatullah Ibrahimkhel and a friend - although they are the only two who face charges.

At Portsmouth Crown Court today (Wednesday, September 16), the jury was shown dash cam footage from motorists who drove past while the attack was taking place. The court had also heard from eyewitnesses, who claimed the fighting continued towards Cosham Park, even after Mr Ibrahimkhel had been stabbed.

Russell Pyne, prosecuting, talked the jury through the dash cam footage they saw, which included a vehicle driving up Portsmouth Road towards Cosham Railway Station, before turning back and passing the scene of the crime a second time.

He said: "You can see the car passing the parade of shops on the right-hand side. There is the group of people involved in this case. The jury will then see others on the side of the road, by the park.

"As the car turns around and sets off going south, you can see people in the road. These people can be seen going from left to right, again towards the park.

"The Crown's suggestion is that you can see Mr Ibrahimkhel falling to the ground as the car goes past."

Dash cam footage was sent to police in the days immediately following the incident, the court heard.

Detective Constable Michelle Frank said: "On Friday, March 13, I obtained dash came footage from an incident on March 12 in Cosham. It's involving a vehicle driving past the incident."
