Council 'pleased' to re-open Hilsea Splash Pool following two 'clear' biological water tests

The Hilsea splash pool has officially opened today following its closure due to reports of sickness.

The Portsmouth City Council closed the popular family splash pool on Friday, August 2, after the team had been made aware of social media posts about people becoming unwell after visiting. Despite initial chlorine tests coming back ‘fine’, the council made the decision to conduct thorough tests as a precaution.

The splash pool has remained closed - but it has officially re-opened today (August 8). The council has posted an update on Facebook.

The post says: “For the wellbeing of our visitors, we recently closed the pool as a precaution and have had the results of two independent biological water tests.

“We're pleased to update you that both tests have come back clear. Additionally, our toilets have been deep cleaned.
