A32 at M27 Junction 10 for Welborne: Hampshire drivers warned about weekend closures in May

A closure warning about the A32 and M27 has been issued to drivers in Hampshire

Drivers are being warned of overnight closures on the A32 and M27 Junction 10 as work continues on a major road upgrade in the area.

The closures, scheduled across two weekends in May, will affect both directions of A32 Wickham Road between Knowle Roundabout and North Hill Roundabout.

Key slip roads at M27 Junction 10 will also be shut, including the eastbound on-slip towards Portsmouth and the westbound off-slip towards Wickham.

The restrictions will be in place from 8pm to 6am between May 8 to May 11  and May 15 to May 18.

An 8-10 mile diversion route will be in place for all affected traffic, directing vehicles away from the closure via the wider Fareham road network and onto the M27 and A27.

Hampshire County Council says the closures are needed to link the new road layout into the existing network at Broadway Roundabout, as well as to allow construction on the southbound carriageway and carry out drainage work on the westbound off-slip.

The works form part of the wider scheme to upgrade Junction 10 into a full-access interchange, aimed at improving traffic flow and supporting development in the area.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys during the closures.
