Paper covered the windows during the closure, but over the last few weeks work has been getting underway at the site to transform it into Southsea’s latest pub - The Brass Monkey.

The new Elm Grove pub has taken to social media to document its major renovation project, with workers gutting the place to make way for a new bar, new flooring and a completely different vibe.

One of the posts says: “After a lot of hard work from our lovely building team, the new bar is finally coming together.

Equipped with a pool table and darts, The Brass Monkey has confirmed it will be officially opening its doors on Friday, November 28 for a weekend of fun to celebrate the launch.
