Luke Adderley, head of school, said: “We have made huge strides at King’s Academy Bay House and I’m delighted that this is reflected in pupils securing strong results to access the next stage of their education - often continuing their study in our fantastic sixth form.

“Behind the headline figures, there are so many fantastic stories of student progress. I’m so proud of the work of all of our staff and students.”

16-year-old, Olivia Skelton, said she is “over the moon” with her results after securing three 9s, five 8s and two 7s. She is planning on studying chemistry, biology and psychology at King’s Academy Bay House Sixth Form and has dreams of going onto university and training to become a vet.

Olivia said: “I’m really relieved, I’m speechless.

“I didn’t want to get my hopes up but now I am over the moon. The staff have been really supportive and the workshops boosted my confidence.”

Executive headteacher, Christopher Willis, added: “Well done to students, staff and families on another exceptional year of achievements, emphasising the remarkable milestone and the standout surges across English and maths.”

King’s Academy Brune Park students and staff are marking a major milestone after securing the best GCSE outcomes the school has ever recorded.

Headteacher Kerry Payne said “These record-breaking GCSE results mark a monumental moment for King’s Academy Brune Park, representing the best outcomes in our school’s history. I could not be prouder of our students, whose exceptional attitude, determination, and resilience have truly paid off. These results are a testament to what happens when young people embrace our core values: having the honesty to reflect and learn, the faith in their own boundless potential, and the courage to tackle every challenge head-on.

“This historic leap forward is also a direct result of the relentless commitment and expertise of our brilliant staff, alongside the support of our parents and carers families. Our students have proven what is possible, and as a school community resolutely on the rise, we are excited to watch them step confidently into their next chapter.”

Students at Meoncross School, in Fareham, are also jumping for joy with English and mathematics results well above national averages, with 75 per cent of English Language entries being at 5 or above.

Meoncross also maintained its long-standing track record of over 90 per cent of all grades being at 4 or above.

Charlotte, who is the top achieving girl at Meoncross this year and is going on to study history, law and business A-levels said:"I'm happy with my results given how nervous I was for the first exam. The teachers at Meoncross have been great; they are supportive.

“Here, everyone knows each other. I joined in Year 7, after moving here from America - everyone was so instantly welcoming, and I made friends really quickly.”

Sarah Ebery, Head of Meoncross School, added: “We continue to be delighted with the achievements of our young people, where year after year they exceed our expectations and impress us with their commitment to all matters academic across every subject.

“Many combining those efforts with extra-curricular achievements at a very high level within sport, music, drama and service. With nearly all bound for local sixth form colleges, I know they will follow previous alumni in topping league tables at A-level or other measures and be a huge asset to those communities.

“Meoncross is a community first and foremost and the support of our excellent teachers and highly supportive families underpins the hard work of our students.”

This year, full-time students retaking their GCSE mathematics and English exams at HSDC have once again performed better than the national averages with one in three achieving their grade 4 in English.

Kurt Hintz, Principal and CEO of Havant and South Downs College, said: “Retaking GCSE English and Maths is not easy, and many students have had to overcome previous disappointment while showing real resilience and determination.

“I am incredibly proud of every student who gained their grade 4 this year and many others who improved by one grade and will likely achieve their grade 4 this coming year. Their success, supported by the commitment of our staff, will help open doors to higher-level study, apprenticeships and employment.”

King’s Academy Lord Wilson, in Sarisbury Green, is among elated schools as it marks an extraordinary milestone after topping the national league tables for special schools for the second successive year.

Dr Nigel Matthias, headteacher, said: "While we were delighted to be recognised in the top one percent of special schools nationally last year, we actually set out to improve our performance even further this year.

"These latest GCSE results are a testament to the sheer hard work and dedication of our students, staff and families. This is the third year in row the school has achieved its highest ever results and the second consecutive year of being in the top 1 per cent of special schools.”

58 per cent of pupils achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and mathematics, with other highlights including a 78 per cent 9 to 4 pass rate in art and design GCSE.
