A-levels 2026: Oaklands Catholic Sixth Form College rejoice over 'record breaking' year
College celebrates students hard work, resilience and commitment
Oaklands Catholic Sixth Form College is celebrating a ‘record-breaking’ year of results with over 75 per cent achieving A* to C grades.
The college based in Waterlooville has seen three of its students accepted into Oxbridge and more than one in five gaining grades of A* and A.
Director of Sixth Form, Dave Godwin, said: “We are so pleased and proud of all our brilliant students. We have had over 10% students achieve a straight set of three or more A*-A grades and this is testament to all their hard work. They have done so well!
“This has been another record-breaking year in terms of results, and we have had the highest ever proportion of successful Oxbridge applications and those going on to leading universities and apprenticeships.”

Student Matthew Hordell got the grades he needed to do business management at the University of Portsmouth.
He said: “I’m really happy with what I have got. It feels weird, as I have been here for seven years, but it is a weight off my shoulders now and I can enjoy the rest of teh summer with no pressure.”

Matthew will be joined at the University of Portsmouth by Josh Pereira who will be reading mechanical engineering.
Josh said: “I am really happy to have got into the University of Portsmouth, I couldn't have asked for more.”
Head of School Amy Bonnington said: “We are immensely proud of our students and delighted to celebrate their achievements. These results are a testament to their determination, the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of families. As a Catholic community, we value the development of the whole person, and it is wonderful to see our young people rewarded for their efforts. We wish them every success as they take the next exciting step in their journeys.”
