A family-run American diner has announced it is “shutting down” due to financial strains.

Located in Market Way, Havant, AJ’s Diner, which opened its doors in December 2024, has taken to social media to confirm it has permanently closed its doors due to “financial difficulties.”

The Facebook post said: “Due to financial difficulties and personal issue we are shutting the diner, we will be selling all the equipment and seating so if you are interested in buying anything please message us directly.”

The family-run American diner, which is known for its fun retro decor and tasty treats, has started selling furniture, glassware and equipment used at the site.

The announcement has left customers “gutted” with many saying it is “such a shame” to see the business close down.
