New Vietnamese venue 'opening soon' at former Southsea Brunch Klub which closed last month
Something new is coming to Southsea
A Vietnamese kitchen is ‘opening soon’ after taking over a former brunch club which closed last month.
Southsea Brunch Klub (SBK) opened in Elm Grove back in April 2023, where it quickly established itself as a ‘must visit’ for live music and bottomless brunch.
But after three years, a resident DJ and producer at the venue, Mister Sledge, confirmed on social media it would close on June 6 - making way for Pho Lounge and Bar.

In the post, it said: “What a fun 3 years it's been playing here pretty much every weekend! Thank you to all of our loyal customers over the last 3 years, in making us Portsmouth’s best brunch spo this isn’t a goodbye, it’s time for something new”.
During its time in Southsea, SBK made the headlines for its decision to challenge Portsmouth City Council over the removal of its alcohol licence following anti-social behaviour outside the business. After lodging an appeal, the brunch club successfully had its licence reinstated after working alongside the council to make appropriate adjustments following concerns.
Since SBK’s closure, the site has been undergoing a considerable refurbishment, both inside and out, with a banner explaining the new business will be “opening soon”. There is currently no confirmed opening date for the Vietnamese venue.
Southsea Brunch Klub has been contacted for more information.
