Marks & Spencer in Gunwharf Quays to reopen soon at Portsmouth shopping centre after refurbishment
Work has been ongoing at the popular shopping centre over recent weeks
A highly-regarded shopping chain will be reopening one of its stores soon.
Marks & Spencer is scheduled to let shoppers return to its Gunwharf Quays store next month. Construction specialists have been hard at work breathing new life into the outlet.

Pictures at the shopping centre show the store starting to take shape. According to the Gunwharf Quays website, customers won’t have to wait much longer to return there.
It said: “The store is closed for a short time to complete improvement works, and will be back open in early October. Whether you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe or update your space, find great style and even better value at M&S Outlet.”
The outlet shopping complex, owned by Landsec, is set to undergo a major transformation after £45m plans were submitted earlier this year. Phase four aims to renovate the waterfront area near the Spinnaker Tower were accepted in May.

Yvonne Clay, centre director at Gunwharf Quays, previously said: “This is an incredibly special year for us. As Gunwharf Quays celebrates 25 years and Portsmouth marks 100 years of city status, it feels like the perfect moment to look ahead, as well as reflect on all we have achieved.
“For a quarter of a century, Gunwharf Quays has been part of Portsmouth’s identity - welcoming millions of guests, supporting local communities, and helping to showcase this incredible waterfront city. These plans for the Waterfront represent our commitment to investing in the next 25 years of the destination.”
Work on the transformation project is scheduled to begin in early 2027.
