"I am really happy it has opened here" - huge excitement as crowds gather for the opening of vibrant new clothing store Lucy & Yak in Gunwharf Quays

The ethical brand is known for its vibrant designs and responsibly sourced clothing as it brought its distinct pink branding to Portsmouth. There was huge excitement as the shop opened its doors at 10am with the first customer arriving at 7am and another group leaving their home in Bristol at 6am to be there for the opening.

Sophie Foster, the new store manager, said: “This is the second outlet store in the whole of the UK for Lucy & Yak and you can see from the amazing queue that our customers love the brand and everything we stand for. We are all about colourful branding, inclusivity and you can tell that the people of Portsmouth really love that.”

With the new store announced last month, Sophie was delighted to finally open the doors. She said: “I have had nervous butterflies all morning and I just wanted to get everyone in the store and get things going to see the amazing hard work that everyone has put in over the past few days.”

Lucy & Yak was welcomed to Portsmouth by a large crowd eager to check out the products on offer.

First in the queue was Harry who said: “I love Lucy & Yak and I have been a customer for quite a while now. I usually go their Brighton shop but its lovely to see it in Portsmouth so I don't have to travel so far. I love the clothes and the vibe so I am really happy it has opened here.”
