Topshop to return to a Hampshire high street after being saved by department store
A popular fashion brand is returning to high streets having been revived by a partnership with John Lewis.
Topshop, which last had a physical presence in UK high streets in 2021, will be featuring in all 32 of John Lewis’s department stores, including one in Hampshire. As of Tuesday, February 17, shoppers can visit the John Lewis in Southampton’s West Quay Shopping Centre to find the latest ranges from the historic brand.

Michelle Wilson, managing director of Topshop, said: “Today is about making it easier for customers to access the Topshop and Topman pieces they love. From our cult denim to new‑season footwear, you can see it, feel it and take it home the same day.
“Partnering with John Lewis brings Topshop back to high streets across the UK with the level of service our customers expect.”

Peter Ruis, managing director of John Lewis, said: “This moment marks a significant acceleration of our fashion ambition at John Lewis. To be the exclusive home of an iconic brand like Topshop, sat alongside other exciting new brands, signals our commitment to be the definitive style authority on the British high street.”
Topshop disappeared from the high street after its former owner Arcadia collapsed into administration in 2021. It was subsequently bought by Asos who continued to sell its products online.
John Lewis department stores will stock Topshop’s most popular items, including its denim range, which will also be available on its online platforms.
