Excitement as new "fine Indian cuisine" restaurant Saffron Spice sets opening date in Southsea

The opening date has been announced for a new Indian restaurant in Southsea with an introductory offer seeing customers dining in receiving a free starter.

Saffron Spice will be welcoming customers for the first time as it opens on Wednesday, April 15 on Osborne Road. Owner Shahid Rahman and his team have been busy at work getting the restaurant ready after taking over the Snookies & Co eatery which closed suddenly in February.

With Shahid already owning El Toro on Osborne Road, he is confident it is a good time to open in the road as the weather starts to change and more people are out and about. Despite his years of experience in the industry, he is still “excited” to welcome customers into the restaurant to experience his new venture.

Speaking to The News last month, Saffron Spice’s owner explained what he wanted the restaurant to be. He said: “What we are going for is fine Indian cuisine using fresh ingredients and a more healthier style of cooking. I think there is a market for it in the area and being in Osborne Road I think that will draw a lot of people in.

“We want to open a restaurant that serves good quality food and provides good quality service.”

Customers do not have long to wait to experience Saffron Spice with bookings already being taken over the phone (02392173851) and via its social media channels.
