"Au revoir": Café Parisian bids Southsea farewell as owner announces closure following "wonderful 18 months" with new concept pending
After 18 “wonderful months” a cafe is set to close its doors, with a new concept in the pipeline.
Cafe Parisian, in Highland Road, has confirmed it is closing in a bid to embark on a new adventure, with a revamped concept pending under fresh ownership.
The cafe, which opened on September 30, 2024, was owned and run by Marian Shannon who wrote on social media: “Time to say "Au revoir"...

“After a wonderful 18 months, Café Parisian is closing it's doors in it's current form. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every single customer who has supported us along the way, and our incredible team who have made the café such a warm, welcoming place.
“Whether you joined us for coffee in the morning, a glass of wine in the evening, or cocktails with friends, you’ve all helped make Café Parisian something truly special.”
The 34-year-old said she will be “stepping away as owner” and that running the eatery has “been an absolute pleasure.”
She added: “I truly hope our paths continue to cross and that I’ll still see many of your familiar faces around. Thank you for being part of this journey with me, it’s meant more than you know.”
The post also confirmed new ownership “will soon be relaunching” a new concept that will incorporate existing favourites while also introducing new aspects to the business.
“Even better, our amazing staff will be staying on, so you’ll still be greeted by the same friendly faces”, the post continued.
