Young adventurers wanted for Portsmouth Tall Ships Voyage

Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) is inviting 16–25-year-olds to step out of their comfort zone and join an exciting five-day ocean adventure along the south coast this summer .

Sailing aboard an iconic 72ft Challenger yacht from Portsmouth Harbour, this voyage (24-28th August) is the ideal starter experience - with no prior sailing experience required.

A spokesperson for the trust said: "Young crew members will enjoy a true hands-on adventure as they work as a team to helm the yacht, hoist the sails, and navigate the coastline alongside like-minded peers. Beyond learning to sail, the trip is designed to build vital life skills in a fun, supportive environment - helping participants grow in confidence, resilience, communication, and problem-solving.

"Voyage berths cost £670 per person (including all food, drink and activities and all safety equipment/clothing) and TSYT provide financial support and bursaries for eligible young people - so please do not let cost be a barrier.

"No prior sailing experience is required. Participants will earn an RYA Start Yachting Certificate during the trip, which can also fulfil the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential requirement.
