Founded by Portsmouth locals Wheats -(David Wheatcroft), Oliver Little and Mike, WYTWOODS has seen an extraordinary response since announcing its arrival, with over 3,000 sign-ups recorded within the first 24 hours of launch. The overwhelming early demand signals strong support not only for a new live music experience on the Isle of Wight, but for a festival built by local creatives with deep roots in the region.

Wheats, who grew as an artist in Portsmouth’s vibrant grassroots music scene, has long been a passionate advocate for nurturing emerging talent. His journey from local stages to co-founding a major new festival reflects the ethos at the heart of WYTWOODS, community-driven, artist-led, and rooted in authenticity.

Speaking about the launch, the founders shared their ambition to create more than just a festival:

“We wanted to build something that feels organic and exciting. A space where people can discover new music, connect with others, and experience something truly special. Being from Portsmouth ourselves, it means everything to bring this vision to life so close to home.”

Set against the natural beauty of the Isle of Wight, WYTWOODS promises a carefully curated line-up spanning emerging artists and established names, immersive woodland staging, and a strong focus on atmosphere and experience. Organisers say sustainability and community collaboration will also play a key role in shaping the festival’s identity from year one.

The Isle of Wight has long been synonymous with legendary live music events, most famously the iconic Isle of Wight Festival, and WYTWOODS aims to build on that heritage while carving out its own unique space within the UK festival calendar.

With momentum building rapidly and early registrations already surpassing expectations, WYTWOODS is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated new festival launches of the summer.
