The Hundred 2026: Southern Brave’s bowlers impressive performances see franchise finish fourth in combined standings
Southern Brave’s women’s campaign came to an end on Friday when they were defeated by SunRisers Leeds in the Eliminator match at Kia Oval, narrowly missing out on a spot in Sunday’s final.

Nonetheless, the performances of the Brave’s two sides combined in the new Hundred Helix Trophy standings, saw them take a respectable fourth spot on 32 points, with Trent Rockets far and away the best performing side in this year’s competition ending on 60 points.
While the men got off to a slow start this year, the women flew out of the gates. They won all their opening five matches, with many of those wins coming in dramatic finishes thanks to superb bowling from the Brave to defend their work with the bat.

In the second half of the campaign though, those margins swung against them, seeing the team lose their last four on the spin. They held on to third spot with 20 points, but that form couldn’t be turned around in time for the Eliminator fixture against the SunRisers, who themselves had won five out of six heading into that semi-final shootout.
The men suffered a tricky start to the season, losing their first three with similarly small margins and leaving them with a mountain to climb to qualify. That start left them with clarity at least - five games left, five wins needed.
They made a good effort at that task, winning three out of five, but there was just too much ground to make up, and they ended the tournament in sixth place on 12 points.
Southern Brave’s bowlers shone throughout the tournament, with four of the top five for men’s bowling economy (average runs conceded per six balls) being held by Brave players, Dan Worrall at five, Jofra Archer at three, Moeen Ali at two and Adil Rashid the top performer with 6.18.
The women’s bowlers also made it onto the top-performer lists. Tilly Corteen-Coleman finished joint-first for most wickets with 13. Issy Wong followed with 12 wickets and Sophie Molineux 11, with Molineux also finishing fifth in the bowling economy top performers list with a rate of 5.84.
That draws the 2026 campaign to a conclusion, with Southern Brave ready to do it all over again next summer, when they will chase the franchise’s third Hundred title.
