Southsea Spirit Chase hat trick in Muddy Stiletto Awards

Two sisters behind one of Southsea’s most popular independent venues are hoping to complete a hat trick of award wins after Southsea Spirit was shortlisted once again in the Muddy Stilettos Awards for Best Bar in Hampshire & the Isle of Wight.

The nomination marks the third consecutive year the Southsea neighbourhood bar has been recognised in the regional awards, with Southsea Spirit also believed to be the only Portsmouth bar shortlisted in this year’s category.

After winning the title for the past two years, sisters Harriet and Charlotte are now hoping to bring the award back to Portsmouth once again.

Based in the heart of Southsea on Albert Road, Southsea Spirit has built a loyal following for its great drinks, warm welcome and strong community spirit, becoming a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike.

The latest recognition comes at a challenging time for many independent hospitality businesses, with rising costs continuing to place pressure on venues across the sector.

Southsea Spirit joins a number of Portsmouth names recognised across this year’s Muddy Stilettos Awards, highlighting the city’s growing reputation for outstanding independents.

Harriet and Charlotte said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us and voted for us over the years. To be nominated for a third year running means so much to us, and to our whole team.

“As sisters running an independent business, we’ve poured everything into creating a venue people love spending time in, but none of it would be possible without our incredible team who bring Southsea Spirit to life every day.

“To be representing Portsmouth again is something we’re hugely proud of, and to win for the third time would be amazing.”

The team is now encouraging customers, friends and the wider Portsmouth community to cast their votes in the Best Bar category.
